Terms and conditions

Terms governing access to and use of openskills.info.

1. Operator and acceptance

openskills.info is operated by Lab42 Srl, Italy, VAT IT03677180121. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2. Accounts

The site provides educational material about information technology to anyone, no account required. An account is only needed to subscribe to a discipline or manage an existing subscription. Accounts are passwordless: you sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address, or with a Google or GitHub account. Keep whichever you use secure — anyone who can read that email, or who controls the third-party account you signed in with, can sign in as you. If you sign in with a third-party provider under a different email address than one you used before, this may create a separate account rather than restore an existing subscription; contact us (section 11) if that happens. There is currently no self-service option to close an account; contact us (section 11) and we will action the request.

3. Paid subscriptions and Paddle as Merchant of Record

A paid subscription grants access to every course in a discipline, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown on the pricing page at checkout, and renews automatically for the same interval until cancelled.

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd for customers in the UK/EEA, Paddle.com Inc. elsewhere), acting as our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. This means your purchase contract for the subscription is with Paddle, not Lab42 Srl: Paddle is the seller of record, issues your receipt or invoice, and collects and remits applicable VAT or sales tax. Lab42 Srl remains responsible for providing access to the course content itself. See the refund policy for how billing disputes and refunds are handled.

4. Cancellation and payment issues

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account or through Paddle; cancelling stops future renewals. See the refund policy for what a cancellation, refund, or chargeback means for the current billing period and for your access.

If a renewal payment fails, access is not cut off immediately: Paddle retries the payment for a period, and access continues in the meantime.

5. Permitted use

You may access the site, link to public pages, and use the material for lawful personal or internal educational purposes. You must not interfere with the site’s operation or security, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malware, use the service unlawfully, or misrepresent the source or authorship of its content.

6. Intellectual property

Unless a specific page or repository file states a different licence, Lab42 Srl and its licensors retain all rights in the site and original course material. No ownership right is transferred to you, whether or not you hold a paid subscription. Third-party names, trademarks, documentation, and linked material remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Educational information

Content is general educational information, not professional advice or a substitute for testing, vendor support, security review, or your own technical judgment. Technologies and official guidance change. Before relying on material in production, verify it against current primary sources and evaluate it in your own environment.

8. Availability and external services

We may correct, update, reorganize, suspend, or discontinue free content without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Checkout, billing, and account sign-in depend on Paddle and Supabase respectively — and, if you choose social sign-in, on Google or GitHub as well; an outage at any of these providers may temporarily prevent subscribing, managing a subscription, or logging in even though this is outside our direct control. External links and services are operated under third parties’ own terms and privacy notices.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lab42 Srl is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site, a subscription, or external links. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury where applicable. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

10. Privacy

Personal-data processing is described in the privacy policy and use of browser storage in the cookie policy.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. The courts of Italy have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory jurisdiction and protections available to consumers in their country of residence. Before starting formal proceedings over the site or its content, you may contact us at info@openskills.info so that we can try to resolve the issue. Billing disputes over a charge itself are handled by Paddle as the seller of record, under its own terms.

12. Changes

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the site or law. The version that applies is the one published when you use the site; changes do not apply retroactively unless required by law.

Effective: 21 July 2026.
